Holiday Travel with Incontinence

By Lynn Wilson

Seniors Traveling Traveling to see family and friends can be one of the holiday season’s greatest pleasures. But for those managing urinary or bowel incontinence, it requires planning and having the right products on hand.

Urinary incontinence affects 200 million people worldwide, and more than 6.5 million Americans have fecal incontinence, according to the National Association For Continence. If you or a loved one is managing incontinence, the best approach is to understand common concerns related to traveling and specific ways to address them.

Visit our   Incontinence   section for a wide variety of top products and brands.

  • “Someone will see my adult diapers.” Stash products inside small toiletry bags for discreet travel, and look for absorbent products made from advanced materials that are thin, quiet and breathable. Ask a member of our CWI Medical team of Product Specialists for a personalized recommendation.

  • “I won’t be able to control odors.” Keeping skin clean and dry are the keys to controlling odor. Bring along a stash of disposable wipes and skin cleansers for on-the-go personal hygiene, and be sure to pack plenty of disposable undergarments.

  • “I won’t make it to a bathroom in time.” Whether driving, flying or sightseeing, plan ahead by having products on hand, carefully monitoring fluid intake and planning frequent restroom visits. Consider products like our Adult Diapers,  which is designed to be worn for long periods of time.

  • “What if I have an accident at someone’s home?” Enjoy extra peace of mind by packing bed or chair pads if leaks are a concern. They’ll not only protect bedding and furniture, but disposable ones can be discreetly tossed away.
